NiR Brewing Competition
One year in, we're celebrating where it all happens — at the brew bar. Two rounds, open to anyone who brews.
Start with a throwdown using coffee supplied by NiR at the competition, the same coffee included in your practice kit. The top six brewers advance to the final, which combines Compulsory Service using beans supplied by NiR with Open Service using a coffee of their own choice.
Home brewers, working baristas and first-time competitors are all welcome. Bring your brewer, share your approach and meet the people who care about what goes into a good cup.

One year in, we want to give back.
Our first year has been shaped by the people who drink our coffee, brew it at home and share their stories with us. This anniversary is our way of saying thank you: a day at the brew bar, open to everyone.
- 01
A stage for every brewer
Whether you brew at home or work as a barista, you compete at the same bar under the same rules.
- 02
A competition you learn from
Two rounds test three skills: brewing familiar coffee, working with unfamiliar beans and presenting a coffee of your choice.
- 03
The community in one room
A day for the people who brew, drink and talk coffee with us — competing, cheering each other on and meeting new faces.

Two rounds. Three ways to brew.
Each round asks something different of you — and of the beans you brew.
Preliminary
Throwdown
Brew with coffee supplied by NiR at the competition. Your kit includes the same coffee for practice. Every competitor starts with the same beans, and the judges evaluate each cup in a blind tasting.
Final
Compulsory & Open Service
Finalists brew coffee supplied by NiR, then present a coffee of their own choice. Two services, one combined result.
Anyone.
